Descripción
We depart from the End of the World Station in Ushuaia municipal camping site. This is the departing point for the trains which, then, follow the winding Pipo River edge that goes deep into Tierra del Fuego National Park. This is the same route as the prison train used to take. Here we can appreciate the used tree trunks: loyal witnesses of that time when Ushuaia used to be a penal colony. Some very funny coaches from the beginning of last century take us to revive a part of this land history.
Recorrido
The End of the World Station
The train starts its journey from the End of the World Station by following the same embankment that prisoners used 100 years ago.

Quemado Bridge
It runs through the “Cañadón del Toro”. It crosses Pipo River on the Quemado Bridge, where we can see the wooden ruins of the old bridge underneath the new one.

La Macarena Waterfall Station
The train stops at La Macarena Waterfall Station where we find a reconstructed native settlement, a typical one of the four native tribes that lived in Ushuaia for thousands of years: the Yamanas. At this point it is possible to climb towards a viewpoint with fabulous views of Pipo River Valley and La Macarena Waterfall, whose source is in Del Martial mountain range.
After 15 minutes, the ticket inspector blows his whistle so we return to the train quietly. The train starts its journey again and goes into the sub Antarctic forest area, one of the few forests in the world.

National Park Border
The train enters Tierra del Fuego National Park. While winding through Pipo River, the train continues its way and crosses areas that show prisoner’s tracks during their daily routine of cutting down trees. They kept on doing this task uninterruptedly for half a century. After bordering the peat bog, a characteristic land in Tierra del Fuego in which a muss called Sphagnum is developed, the train arrives at the park station.

National Park Station
At this point, we can make use of the toilet coaches. We can then either return by train to the End of the World Station or continue our excursion by other means of pre-booked transport. During the journey we are accompanied by a bilingual guide (Spanish-English), who tells the story of the "Convict Train" in detail.
